I don’t love to eat or cook red meat often but my daughter and husband love it! When my husband was doing his residency (pre-children) in London Ontario, Canada I made this for him all of the time. It is a long lost recipe I just pulled out of my back pocket…I kind of forgot about it 🙂 Flank steak is a leaner cut of meat and marinated the right way can be very flavorful and delicious. You can pair it with a wide variety of sides. Last night we enjoyed it with my smashed potatoes and steamed asparagus. Today I’m going to use the left overs to top a salad. Yum!
Ingredients
• 2 lb flank steak
Marinade
• 1/3 cup of gluten free soy sauce
• 1/4 cup sesame oil
• 1/4 cup honey
Spices: 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp ground ginger, pinch of ground pepper.
Directions
1. In a bowl whisk together marinade ingredients. Place flank steak in a large ziploc bag or shallow dish and cover with marinade. Cover and place in the fridge for 2 hours minimum.
2. Heat a large grill pan on high. Place the flank steak on the pan on a diagonal and cook for about 1.5-2 minutes and then turn 45 degrees to create grill marks. Cook another 1.5-2 minutes. Flip steak and do the same thing to the other side. You want to cook the steak for about 7 minutes all together. It will be medium rare. If you want it more thoroughly cooked increase cooking time by about 1-2 minutes each side. You don’t want to dry it out!

Easy peasy. Enjoy! xoxo
