Rosewater Toner

Rosewater acts as an anti-inflammatory and can help with redness, dermatitis, acne and eczema. All 4 of us have very sensitive skin and we’re always looking for ways to alleviate redness and dryness. We have many prescription creams in our cupboard but when I came across the benefits of rosewater and it’s anti-inflammatory properties I had to give it a try. When I learned I could make it myself I was even more intrigued. It is so easy and you may find it works well with your skin type. I diluted the rosewater with some distilled water in a spray bottle and I spray it on my face every morning and night. I do feel as though it has evened out my skin tone and helped with my acne and dry skin. Follow the directions below for an inexpensive and easy way to make your own rosewater toner.

Ingredients

• 4 red roses

• 1 litre of distilled water

• 1 spray bottle

Directions

1. Clean your roses well under water to remove any dirt.

2. In a large pot place the petals of all 4 roses. If you hold the top of the rose with one hand and gently tug the stem away the top of the flower should come off very easily and the petals will separate.

3. Cover the petals with 1 liter of distilled water (store some aside for the toner) and push petals down with your hand.

4. Bring water to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer covered for 20 minutes. The petals should turn a light pink.

5. Remove lid and strain petals from water.

6. For the toner add 1/4 rosewater to 3/4 distilled water to your spray bottle.

7. Store the rest in the fridge or freeze for later use.

Easy peasy. Enjoy! xoxo
