Turmeric is a powerful spice and has many health benefits. It helps soothe your stomach by relieving symptoms of constipation, cramping and IBS. It relieves menstrual cramping by reducing inflammation. It aids in treating depression and anxiety and has cancer fighting properties. Add this potent spice to your dishes to give it flavor and color! I added some turmeric to poached eggs this morning and the results were perfect. Follow this very easy recipe below to make your own. I served mine on top of a toasted corn tortilla with some tomatoes and parsley left over from last night.
Ingredients
• 1-2 eggs
• 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
• 2 tsp turmeric
• Pinch of salt
Directions
1. In a saucepan fill with water 2″ from the bottom. Bring to a boil.
2. Reduce heat to a simmer. Add apple cider vinegar, turmeric and salt. Stir.
3. Crack your egg into a small bowl or measuring cup with a handle. Lower the egg into the water very slowly. Let egg cook for about 3-4 minutes. Add another egg to the boiling water if desired about 30 seconds after the first (you can cook multiple eggs at a time). Remove egg from the water with a slotted spoon. Lay egg on a paper towel to absorb some of the excess water before serving.
Easy peasy. Enjoy! xoxo
