An apple a day keeps the doctor away 🙂 Apples are the best afternoon snack. They give you energy and help keep you full due to the fiber and water content. They are also jam packed with vitamins which helps keep the doctor far, far away! Instead of eating an apple whole why not try this fun and easy recipe to give your afternoon snack a fun and flavorful makeover. If you’d like to make this salad for a large group, adjust accordingly by doubling or tripling the recipe.
Ingredients
• 1 apple thinly sliced using a spiralizer
• 3 tsp gluten free oats
• 1 tbsp raisins
• 1 scoop/dollop of your favorite gluten and nut free yogurt
Staples: 2 tsp brown sugar, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and a pinch of pink himalayan salt
Directions
1. Place your apple slices in a medium bowl. Add sugar and gently mix with your hands to cover apples. Add cinnamon and salt and continue mixing, then oats.
2. Add raisins and toss. Place salad into a serving bowl and top with yogurt. Serve right away or place in fridge to allow flavors to blend.
